“Atlas trail is a dreamlike experience.”

One of the original trails built by the World Trail crew and still amongst the best anywhere. This fast and flowy trail descends 12km back to the town through sub-Alpine forests and endless berms and whoops. Rated blue its one of the longer descents in the area. A must do Derby experience!

“Carb-load and share tales around the fire”

After a big day exploring the trails sit back with a cold drink and let someone else take care of the cooking. At the Hub you’ll find woodfire pizza as good as anywhere, with locals and visitors sharing the stoke late into the evening. Then roll back your beautiful Derby accommodation.

The family friendly 2km loop around Lake Derby is a great way intro to riding in town. It’s flat profile makes it great for little people, trail jogging or walking.

“A great base to explore the NE region.”

Just over an hour from Launceston, Derby sits between the wine region of Pipers River and the stunning coastline of the Bay of Fires. When travelling to this part of Tasmania there are many awesome options for day-trips and sightseeing. You don’t have to be a mountain biker to love Derby, but with shuttles and e-bikes for rental its easy for even novice riders to get out and enjoy the trails. Highly rated Derby accommodation.

“Unforgettable.”

Do you know someone who has been to Blue Derby, come home and raved about the trails? Chances are someone in your group of friends and riding buddies has made the trip to Tasmania's north-east and come home impressed with the quality of the trails, the beauty of the location and the amount of fun they had when they visited. I've been 5 times now, and that's exactly how I've felt each time – with each visit it is clear how well the trails are settling into their surrounds. It's not just the forest that is growing up around the edges of the trails – but the town of Derby itself.
