Blue Tier descent with a pub lunch
/A local institution - The Weldborough Hotel
You’ve had an early start, bombed it down The Blue Tier trail and need a place to park you and your bike down for a feed.
Look no further than The Weldborough an old and charming country pub which dates back to 1860. With rustic wooden tables nestled under the trees, this quaint beer garden is a lunchtime oasis for mountain bikers.
It’s the perfect place to take a break with your mates, and enjoy comparing note and highlights of the exhilarating Blue Tier trail. It’s close enough to the surrounding towns for friends and family to come down and join you for lunch before you head back onto Atlas.
Fill your boots with everything from hearty steak sandwiches, burgers and big bowls of potato wedges, all of which can be washed down with an interesting selection of local micro-brewed craft beers, ginger beers and ciders - enjoy being spoilt for choice to name a few: Little Rivers, Ironhouse, Willie Smith, Moo Brew, Ocho, Miners Gold, Hobart Brewing Co, Pagan Cider, Plenty Cider, Gillespie's, Spreyton Fresh, Boekamp, 9th Island, Joseph Chromy, Devils Corner, Holm Oak, Bell & Gong, Priory Ridge, Launceston Distillery, Overeem, Hellyers
You can stock up on water, check out the trail maps and catch the shuttle from The Weldborough straight to the top of the Atlas trail (bookings essential)
